Genus Microscina View in CoL gen. nov.
Type species: Microscina rostrata View in CoL sp. nov., by present designation.
Diagnosis. As with the characters of the family with the following additions. Cuticle very thin, translucent. Antennae 1 with relatively broad, lanceolate callynophore. Pereon of females slightly inflated due to enlargement of pereonites 1–4. Pereopods with margins of most articles slightly serrated. Uropoda; peduncles and rami with slightly serrated margins.
One species.
Etymology. The new genus name makes reference to the unusually small buccal mass.
