Type Locality: India, Assam, Khasi Hills, Cherrapunji.

Vernacular Names: White-tailed Mole.

Distribution: Burma, Assam ( India), and Yunnan ( China).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Formerly included in T. micrura ; see Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951:40); but also see Corbet (1978 c:33).
