De Saussure (1855) described Pseudosumia indica based on a female in Spinola collection, and its description was added by Giordani Soika (1960) based on specimens from Java, Lombok, and Borneo. Because the label of the only specimen in Spinola collection has no name of de Saussure, van der Vech (1963: 42) had selected that specimens-the type of Montezumia indica as the lectotype.
