Eutrichosomella keralaensis Manickavasagam & Menakadevi
( Figs 13–15 View FIGURES 8 – 15 )
Eutrichosomella keralaensis Manickavasagam & Menakadevi, 2012: 878 ,♀. India, Kerala (EDAU, examined).
The holotype of E. keralaensis is a completely dissected specimen mounted on a slide under 5 coverslip pieces. The slide has two labels, “ India. K.L [Kerala] YPT [Yellow Pan Trap], Forest Calicut Kakavayal 12.x.2010 ” and “ Eutrichosomella keralaensis Manickavasagam & Menakadevi Holotype Coll. A. Rameshkumar”
The head is badly crushed. The mesosoma has the pronotum, metanotum, propodeum and pleurites removed and mounted under the same coverslip piece. I could not locate the mesosternum and the mesofurca, and these are probably lost.
The original description is more or less correct except for the following discrepancies in the original description and the holotype (original description by the authors given in brackets): funicle colour as illustrated by the authors; F1 and F2 dark brown, F3 dark brown with upper fourth or so white (funicle white); gaster dark brown with TI white (gaster dark brown except T1–T3 brownish); each side lobe of mesoscutum with 3 bristle-like setae, Fig. 13 View FIGURES 8 – 15 (side lobe of mesoscutum with 2 setae); propodeum at least with 3, possibly 4, setae on each side, Fig. 14 View FIGURES 8 – 15 (2 short setae on each side); costal cell with 1 bristle-like seta at apex on dorsal surface (nothing was mentioned about this seta, but the single line of setae mentioned are on the ventral surface of the costal cell); fore wing with postmarginal vein present, about three-fourths the length of stigmal vein, Fig. 15 View FIGURES 8 – 15 (postmarginal vein absent). It is also not possible to measure the median length of the metanotum as it was detached from the mesosoma and not mounted flat, but it appears shorter than the median length of the propodeum ( Manickavasagam & Menakadevi 2012: figs 2c and 2d).
