Type locality.
Bacons Castle, Virginia, depth 115 ft. (ca. 35 m); stratum: Yorktown Formation; age: Late Miocene to Middle Pliocene.
Type material.
Holotype, ANSP IP16771 (as “type” in Richards 1968: 113).
Current taxonomic status.
Acteocina candei ( d’Orbigny, 1841) ( Campbell 1993).
