Lectotype (designated here by Reveal): Herb. Clifford: 143, Aesculus 1, sheet A (BM-000558600) .

Current name: Aesculus pavia L. var. pavia View in CoL View at ENA ( Hippocastanaceae ).

Note: Hardin (in Brittonia 9: 194. 1957) suggested 467.2 (LINN) as type but this collection lacks the relevant Species Plantarum number (i.e. “2”) and was a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, and is not original material for the name.
