Balgus subfasciatus ( Bonvouloir, 1875)

Pterotarsus subfasciatus Bonvouloir, 1875: 832 , 840 (original description). Balgus subfasciatus Fleutiaux, 1920: 98 (new combination); Schenkling, 1928: 7 (catalogue); Blackwelder, 1944: 275 (catalogue).

Diagnosis. S ubcylindrical body; dorsal and ventral region covered with sparse yellow pubescence; posterior angle of pronotum with short and oblique carina; scutellum carinate; elytra with anterior suboval tubercle, covered with strong rugosities, posterior half of elytra without tubercles; longitudinal median carina of ventrite 5 with four small teeth.

Female genitalia: unknown.

Aedeagus: unknown.

Etymology. [sub + fasciatus]. sub, from Latin, “below”, “less” or “almost”, fasciatus, from Latin, “with bands”, in reference to the elytral pattern of bands.

Distribution. Colombia ( Figure 15 View FIGURE 15 ).

Type locality. Colombia ( Bonvouloir, 1875).

Note. This species was not evaluated in this study, material was not available. The diagnosis was based on the original description and this species was not included into the matrix, because of the large amount of missing data.
