Replaced synonym: Dendrochilum pholidotoides J.J.Sm., Bull. Jard. Bot. Buitenzorg View in CoL , sér. 3, 5: 60 (1922).

Notes: not Coelogyne pholidotoides J.J.Sm., Icon. Bogor. 2: 24, t. 106 B (1903). The old name refers to the close similarity of this species to those in the (former) genus Pholidota , which is here also treated as a synonym of Coelogyne .

The new name honours Irawati, the first female director of the famous Kebun Raya in Bogor, Indonesia, who has done much for ex situ conservation of orchids in Indonesia and has been an esteemed collaborator with the authors and colleagues.
