23. Galactia remansoana Harms (1908: 216) View in CoL . Type: — BRAZIL. Bahia: Ule 7375 (holotype F![photo], isotype K).
Prostrate, pilose herb; leaves pinnately trifoliolate, leaflets suborbicular to obovate; endemic to the Caatinga biome.
Selected specimens: — BRAZIL. Bahia: Xique-Xique , 11 March 2006, L. P. de Queiroz 12165 (HUEFS); Minas Gerais: Mocambinho, 21 January 1992, M. Brandão 20310 (PAMG) .
Distribution: —Endemic to Brazil (BA, CE, MG, PE).
Habitat and ecology:—Caatinga biome, growing in scrubland, at elevations of 400–600m, on sandy or rocky soils, occasionally amongst sandstone outcrops.
Notes: —the specimen Brandão 20310 (PAMG) from Mocambinho is the first record of the species in Minas Gerais. The vernacular names of this species are “feijão-bravo” and “jitirana-preta”.
Phenology:— Flowering and fruiting from January to April.
