TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Tamaulipas, Altamira .

DISTRIBUTION: Vicinity of Altamira and Tampico in SE Tamaulipas ( Mexico).

COMMENTS: Elevated to specific status by Alvarez (1963a). Reviewed by Baker and Williams (1974, Mammalian Species, 35) and Williams and Genoways (1977).
