Brownia Johnson, 2021 View in CoL (in Mathison 2021).
This genus was first proposed by Johnson (1992) and includes species formerly placed in Ctenicera , with some species also included in Hypoganus Kiesenwetter, 1858 by some authors. The species “ Ctenicera sp. nr. coniungens (LeConte) ” in Seibert (1993) is Brownia praeses ( Horn, 1871) . Described from the Bitteroot Valley in Ravalli County, Montana, B. praeses differs from Brownia coniungens (LeConte) by characters of the prothorax and the male genitalia (FEE comparison of types in MCZC and type-compared specimen dissections). This genus awaits a full revision.
