Type species: Xystopyge lineata Attems, 1909
Diagnosis: A genus of Lissopyginae differing from the only other genus in the subfamily ( Lissopyge Attems, 1909 ) by an enlarged anterior gonopod sternum and a simple solenomere (at most with a few small spines etc.) which is no longer than the telomere.
Descriptive notes: Intraocular furrows missing, 4–6 supralabral setae, lateral lobe of collum with 2–3 furrows, prozonite smooth, ventral part of metazonite with furrows, limbus serrate, anal valves with dorsal spine, with or without a single to a few setae, postfemoral and tibial pads present on male legs.
Gonopod: Anterior sternum long and conical, no basomeric spines, torsotope on basomere extended, no posttorsal narrowing of the basomere, telomere elongate, often somewhat ribbon-shaped, with or without lamellae and spines, solenomere no longer than telomere.
Distribution: East Africa ( Kenya, Tanzania).
