HOLOTYPE: AMNH 118333 About AMNH , adult male, collected at Buenavista , 1200 ft, 01.29N, 78.05W ( Paynter, 1997), Nariño, Colombia, on 27 September 1912, by William B. Richardson. GoogleMaps
COMMENTS: Chapman gave the AMNH number of the holotype in the original description and said that he had five specimens (including the type) from Buenavista, one from Ricuarte, and one from Cocal. The six paratypes are: Cocal, 4000 ft, AMNH 110287 About AMNH , female, 11 June 1911 ; Buenavista, AMNH 118331 About AMNH , 118332 About AMNH , 118334 About AMNH , 118335 About AMNH , one male and three females, 26–30 September 1912 ; Ricuarte, AMNH 118336 About AMNH , male, 14 September 1912. This last specimen was exchanged to BMNH in May 1921 .
