COMMENTS: Chapman gave the AMNH number of the holotype in the original description. Under ‘‘Specimens Examined,’’ Chapman said he had eight males and three females, all from Carapas, but only a total of eight specimens were cataloged at AMNH. The seven paratypes, all collected in 1925 by
Tate and Clement, are: AMNH 188544 About AMNH , female, 30 March ; AMNH 188545 About AMNH , male, 30 March ; AMNH 188546 About AMNH , adult male, 30 March ; AMNH 188547 About AMNH , adult male, 31 March ; AMNH 188548 About AMNH , female, 1 April ; AMNH 188549 About AMNH , immature male, 12 April ; AMNH 188550 About AMNH , adult male, no day or month. Of these AMNH 188545 About AMNH and 188547 were exchanged to Colección Phelps in July 1944. See Tate (1931) for an account of the ascent of Cerro Turumiquire .
