Etymology. The species is named after Guan Sheng, one of the 108 outlaws in the classical Chinese literature Outlaws of the Marsh; noun in apposition.
Diagnosis. The male of the new species is similar to that of S. maculata by having a similarly shape embolus and metatarsus I with a spine but can be distinguished by the terminus of the psembolus, which is directed prolateral to the tarsus (vs. directed retrolateral to the tarsus in S. maculata ), and metatarsus I is straight (vs. sigmoid in S. maculata ).
Description. Male (holotype). Total length 7.14; carapace 3.34 long, 2.74 wide, opisthosoma 3.80 long, 1.87 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.16, ALE 0.18, PME 0.14, PLE 0.14, AME–AME 0.04, AME–ALE 0.02, PME–PME 0.14, PME–PLE 0.01, AME–PME 0.02, ALE–PLE 0.02. Chelicerae with eight retromarginal teeth. Leg measurements: I 9.12 (2.71, 3.49, 1.71, 1.21), II 8.36 (2.41, 3.10, 1.66, 1.19), III 8.02 (2.04, 2.65, 2.05, 1.28), IV 11.39 (2.92, 3.71, 3.19, 1.57).
Coloration ( Figs 16A–B View Figure 16 ). Carapace, chelicerae, endites, labium and sternum brown. Legs brown, with black setae. Opisthosoma oval, dark brown with purple pattern. Four spinnerets, pale yellow.
Palp ( Fig. 15 View Figure 15 ). Patella almost as long as cymbium. Tibia almost two times longer than bulb. Tip of cymbium with 27 strong spines. Bulb smooth, pyriform, with a long, slender psembolus, ratio of bulb length to psembolus 2: 3. Terminus of psembolus strongly curved.
Female. Unknown.
Material examined. Holotype ♂ (IZCAS-Ar43848), China: Yunnan, Zhaotong , Zhenxiong County, Huashanxiang (27.4919°N, 104.4759°E, elev. 2071 m), 7 July 2022, Ming Yi leg. Paratype. 1♂ (IZCAS-Ar43849), same data as holotype GoogleMaps .
Distribution. Known only from the type locality.
