Lingulatus chaijin Lin & Li , sp. nov. ( Figs 26 View Figure 26 , 46J View Figure 46 )
Etymology. The species is named after Chai Jin, one of the 108 outlaws in the classical Chinese literature Outlaws of the Marsh; noun in apposition.
Diagnosis. The female of the new species is similar to L. dongping Lin & Li , sp. nov. by having a glandular appendage near the copulatory openings on the dorsum of the spermatheca. However, the new species can be distinguished from the latter by the hook-shaped spermathecae (vs. straight in the latter), the bursae are longer than the spermathecae (vs. the same length in the latter) and the glandular appendage is inconspicuous (vs. obvious in the latter).
Description. Male (holotype). Total length 3.25; carapace 1.29 long, 1.15 wide, opisthosoma 1.96 long, 1.61 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.08, ALE 0.08, PME 0.08, PLE 0.07, AME–AME 0.04, AME–ALE 0.03, PME–PME 0.07, PME–PLE 0.06, AME–PME 0.07, ALE–PLE 0.08. Chelicerae with two promarginal and two retromarginal teeth. Leg measurements: I 5.19 (1.37, 2.03, 1.26, 0.53), II 4.09 (1.10, 1.44, 0.93, 0.62), III 3.26 (0.89, 1.02, 0.88, 0.47), IV 5.15 (1.42, 1.62, 1.42, 0.69). Leg spination: I femur 4pv, 2d, tibia 7-7v, metatarsus 4-4v; II femur 3pv, 1d, tibia 7-7v, metatarsus 4-4v, III femur 1d, IV femur 1d.
Coloration ( Fig. 46C View Figure 46 ). Carapace brown, edge black. Chelicerae, endites and labium brown. Sternum pale brown. Legs pale yellow with black setae. Opisthosoma oval, dorsum brown, centrally with pair of inconspicuous white spots, terminus with a white spot, ventrum yellow. Spinnerets yellow-brown.
Epigyne ( Fig. 26 View Figure 26 ). Epigynal plate rectangular. Copulatory openings at middle of epigynal plate. Copulatory ducts inconspicuous, covered by bursae. Bursae large, wider than long, covering nearly half of epigynal plate. Glandular appendages short, transverse, directed laterally. Spermathecae long and slender, S-shaped, terminus separated, three times longer than fertilization ducts. Fertilization ducts directed toward clock 1:00 position from spermathecae.
Male. Unknown.
Material examined. Holotype ♀ (IZCAS-Ar43899), Vietnam: Hai Phong, Cat Ba National Park , Acacia Plantation, Sieving , (20.7840°N, 107.0012°E, elev. 47 m), 19 March 2008, Dinh-Sac Pham leg. Paratypes. 2♀ (IZCAS-Ar43900, Ar43901), same data as holotype GoogleMaps .
