Borboropactus nanda Lin & Li , sp. nov. ( Figs 58–60 View Figure 58 View Figure 59 View Figure 60 , 69A–B View Figure 69 )
Etymology. The species is named after the short name for Nanjing University in Chinese Pinyin, where the collector studied; noun in apposition.
Diagnosis. The new species is similar to B. bituberculatus Simon, 1884 (see Tang & Li, 2010a) by the male embolic base with a tooth, the similar shape of the conductor and the epigynum with epigynal teeth and a hood. However, the new species can be distinguished by the embolus coiling 900° (vs. 540° in B. bituberculatus ) and the tegular apophysis as long as wide (vs. wider than long in B. bituberculatus ). In the female, the ratio of the length of the septum to the width of the septum is almost 1: 2 (vs. 1: 3 in B. bituberculatus ), and the copulatory ducts have three turns (vs. two turns in B. bituberculatus ).
Description. Male (holotype). Total length 9.44; carapace 4.79 long, 4.17 wide, opisthosoma 4.65 long, 3.34 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.18, ALE 0.20, PME 0.16, PLE 0.22, AME–AME 0.14, AME–ALE 0.24, PME–PME 0.18, PME–PLE 0.41, AME–PME 0.26, ALE–PLE 0.21. Chelicerae with six promarginal and four retromarginal teeth. Leg measurements: I lost, II 11.36 (3.60, 4.44, 2.24, 1.08), III 11.01 (3.17, 4.13, 2.43, 1.28), IV 10.19 (3.07, 3.67, 2.27, 1.18).
Coloration ( Fig. 69A View Figure 69 ). Carapace dark red-brown, covered with short white setae. Chelicera, endites, labium dark brown. Sternum yellow-brown. Legs brown with white setae. Opisthosoma pentagonal, dark brown with numerous yellow-brown spots, covered with short, clavate setae, ventrum yellow.
Palp ( Fig. 58 View Figure 58 ). Retrolateral tibial apophysis triangular, longer than wide. Tegular apophysis at middle of bulb, oval, with hood. Conductor lamellate, membranous, half encloses terminus of embolus. Embolus long and slender, basally with an apophysis, coiling 900°.
Female (IZCAS-Ar43977). Total length 9.45; carapace 4.55 long, 3.98 wide, opisthosoma 4.90 long, 3.55 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.14, ALE 0.17, PME 0.14, PLE 0.14, AME–AME 0.17, AME–ALE 0.29, PME–PME 0.25, PME–PLE 0.39, AME–PME 0.29, ALE–PLE 0.27. Chelicerae with five promarginal and four retromarginal teeth. Leg measurements: I 12.26 (3.90, 5.55, 1.94, 0.87), II 8.85 (2.77, 3.57, 1.63, 0.88), III, IV lost.
Coloration ( Fig. 69B View Figure 69 ). Similar to that of male except paler.
Epigyne ( Fig. 59 View Figure 59 ). Septum with an oval anterior hood, vase shaped. Epigynal teeth paired, arising bilaterally, basally expanded. Copulatory ducts long, wider than spermathecae. Spermathecae twisted, convoluted. Fertilization ducts tapering.
