Genus Malamatidia Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001 View in CoL

Malamatidia Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001: 191.

Type species.

Malamatidia bohorokensis Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001 from Sumatra, Borneo.

Diagnosis.

Malamatidia resembles Matidia Thorell, 1878 and Nusatidia Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001 by the long, slender, pale yellow or greenish (in alcohol) body (Figs 2E-H View Figure 2 , 4E-H View Figure 4 , 6E-H View Figure 6 , 8E-H View Figure 8 , 10A-C View Figure 10 ), but it can be distinguished from Matidia by the higher cephalic region/carapace width ratio (~ 2/3 vs. 1/2 in Matidia ) (cf. Figs 2E, G View Figure 2 and 4E, G View Figure 4 , 6E, G View Figure 6 ) and femur I is shorter than femur II. It differs from Nusatidia by the sternum without a rectangular extension (cf. Figs 2H View Figure 2 and 10B View Figure 10 ). Malamatidia species also can be recognised by the copulatory organs: RTA with a sub-rectangular tip (Fig. 1B View Figure 1 ), filiform embolus curving clockwise and following along the tegular distal margin (Fig. 1C, D View Figure 1 ), sperm duct an S-shaped loop and sometimes abruptly narrowed (Fig. 1D, E View Figure 1 ); epigynal plate has a central depression with a longitudinal rim or septum centrally (Fig. 2A, B View Figure 2 ). All characters of Malamatidia , Nusatidia , and Matidia are according to Deeleman-Reinhold (2001) and Jäger and Dankittipakul (2010).

Description.

See Deeleman-Reinhold (2001).

Comments.

Based on morphological characters, the genus is probably closely related to Matidia and Nusatidia . However, the monophyly and the exact placement of Malamatidia within Clubionidae remains to be tested.
