The shape of the antennomere III in the holotype female of Malacoscylus usingeri View in CoL is not like that in females of Lamacoscylus View in CoL or Malacoscylus View in CoL , agreeing perfectly with that in the type species of Schmidarius View in CoL . Accordingly, the species is transferred to the latter. This species remains known only by the holotype from Mexico (Distrito Federal) ( Monné 2020).
