( NZAC, CXMNC); La Foa County (Nili), 2.XII.2006, on leaves of Cycas revoluta, C. Mille coll., Rosa C. Henderson det. ( NZAC, CXMNC); same loc., 11.VIII.2008, on leaves of C. revoluta, C. PUBLISHED RECORDS IN NEW CALEDONIA. — Cohic (1956, 1958a).
DISTRIBUTION IN NEW CALEDONIA. — Grande Terre (La Foa, Poya and Koumac counties).
HOST- PLANTS IN NEW CALEDONIA. — Polyphagous, Aristolochia spp., Calophyllum inophyllum , Citrullus vulgaris , Citrus spp., Coffea spp., Cucurbita pepo , Erythrina spp., Gardenia spp., Gossypium spp., Hibiscus tilliaceus , Luffa spp., Orchis spp., Mangifera indica , Persea americana , Pseuderanthemum spp., Sesbania grandiflora , Solanum melongena ( Brun & Chazeau 1986) , recently collected on Ixora collina , Eugenia cf stricta, and on Cycas revoluta in large infestations on old leaves.
OTHER RECORDS. — Almost cosmopolitan.
BIOLOGICAL AGENTS.— Encyrtus infelix ( Hymenoptera : Encyrtidae ), Scutellista caerulea ( Hymenoptera : Pteromalidae ), Cryptolaemus montrouzieri ( Coleoptera : Coccinellidae ) and Lecanicillium lecanii (Fungi, Hypocreales , Cordycipitaceae ).
NOTES. — Among Saissetia spp., this is the commonest in New Caledonia. According to Cohic (1958a), despite its polyphagous diet, this species is maintained under economic thresholds by Scutellista caerulea ( Hymenoptera , Pteromalidae ).
