Current name: Euthamia caroliniana (L.) Greene View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).
Note: Specific epithet spelled “carolinianum” in the protologue.
There remains uncertainty about the identity of the plant illustrated by Dillenius (see Fernald in Rhodora 46: 323-330. 1944; Reveal in Taxon 40: 505-508. 1991).
