Type species: Prostherapis femoralis Boulenger, 1884 , by original designation.

Remarks: Barrio-Amorós et al. (2011) and Barrio-Amorós and Santos (2012) noted the difficulty of distinguishing some Allobates and Aromobates species using the morphological traits proposed by Grant et al. (2006).
