Notes: ―The collection by Frenchel 1958 (PRE-0371967!) carries the preliminary name Salsola strumulosa C.A. Sm. , and is designated as the type. Part of the collection is lodged in Z as ‘ Salsola stromulosa C.A. Smith’ (Z-000002800!) and carries a note of possible type. It has been collected in ‘Groot Namaqualand’, Keetmanshoop (2618CA) (today in Namibia) in 1894, and the collector identified the plant as ‘ Salsola aphylla ?). It is a taxon of Caroxylon , yet not clear to which species it might belong.
