Type:― SOUTH AFRICA. Boschjemanland [ Namaqualand today]: Bitterfontein, kalksteinhaltige Hügel und karrooartige Niederungen, reichhaltig and Salzpflanzen, 3000–4000 ft, Zeyher 1447 planta alternifolia (lectotype: L, designated by Botschantzev 1974a: 603 ; isolectotypes: K 000243938! , K 000243937! , NBG-SAM0043483-0! , PRE 0375574-0!) .

Salsola zeyheri (Moq.) Benth. & Hook. ex Schinz View in CoL in Bull. Herb. Boiss. 5, App. 3: 62 (1897), isonym (Art. 6.3 Note2 of ICN).

Notes: ―The type locality clearly refers to Namaqualand that was considered part of Bushmanland at the time of collection.

Distribution: ― Namibia: Sperrgebiet, Lüderitzbucht, and southern Karas region ; South Africa ( WC, NC): Knersvlakte, Namaqualand , Bushmanland .
