Rheopelopia ornata (Meigen) View in CoL
( Figs. 11–12 View FIGURES 1 – 12 )
Rheopelopia ornata ( Meigen, 1838: 14) View in CoL (as Tanypus View in CoL ); Fittkau (1962: 209–216, Figs. 143, 144, 146, 149.) Krenopelopia joganflava Sasa et Okazawa, 1991: 67 , Fig. 1.9. [Holotype 216: 083.] Syn. nov.
The holotype of Krenopelopia joganflava has a median volsella with elongate digitiform lateral lobe ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 1 – 12 - arrow), indicating that it should be regarded as a junior synonym of Rheopelopia ornata (Meigen) View in CoL . In addition, the coloration (e.g. femora with distinct apical dark bands), simple phallapodeme, and mid tarsomere 3 with a brush of strong setae (which apparently fall off easily), also confirm the synonymy.
The Japanese specimens of R. ornata are lacking pulvilli, which is in accordance with Fittkau (1962: 222).
