Distribution in Iran. East Azarbaijan ( Modarres Awal 1997a; Hassanzadeh et al. 2009b; Ghahari et al. 2010c), Fars ( Wagner 1968; Hoberlandt 1989; Linnavuori 2012), Golestan ( Ghahari et al. 2011), Guilan ( Linnavuori 2007), Hamadan, Kermanshah, Tehran ( Brown 1966; Hoberlandt 1989), Kerman, Sistan & Baluchestan ( Wagner 1968), Khorasan ( Modarres Awal 1996a, 1997b), Kordestan ( Wagner 1961), West Azarbaijan ( Hoberlandt 1989).
General distribution. Irano-Turanian: Balkans, Algeria, Near East, Transcaucasia, Central Asia.
Comments. On weeds ( Modarres Awal 1997a); but generally this species and the following Phyllomorpha spp. live on Paronychia spp. ( Caryophyllaceae ) ( Moulet 1995). Also, Astragalus sp. ( Fabaceae ) was recorded as the host of P. lacerata by Wagner (1968), and also was collected from the cotton fields by Ghahari et al. (2011).
