Distribution in Iran. Hormozgan ( Moulet 1995; Linnavuori 2004), Kerman ( Jakovlev 1901; Wagner 1968), Khorasan, Sistan & Baluchestan ( Seidenstücker 1957; Kiritshenko 1966; Moulet 1995).
General distribution. An Eremian and Arabic species, widely spread in tropical Africa, and known in Oriental and Neotropical Regions (Galapagos Islands) ( Moulet 1995; Dolling 2006).
Comment. Moulet (1995) considers D. insularis as a synonym of D. bianchii and Schuh and Slater (1995) as the synomyn of an African species they do not name.
