Remarks. This species is similar to P. cothurnatus Macquart, 1827 ; however, the palpus is slightly larger, mesoscutum narrowly lustrous just behind antepronotum, and abdominal segment 7 mostly lustrous. Without associated males the identification or description as new species is impossible.
