( Figs. 1–4 View Figs )
Type Material. Holotype, female: MALAYSIA: Sabah, Danum Valley Research Station , 200 m, 23 June 1989, E. S. Ross, L. Saul and N. Gershenz collectors (deposited in California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco, CA, USA; Type #20033) .
Diagnosis. Elytral declivity obliquely truncate, face flat, margin costate and tuberculate, declivital striae and interstriae distinct, interstriae tuberculate-granulate and setose, tubercles small and uniform in size and just below summit, and anterior margin with elevated carina bearing four large serrations. Size large, 7.8 mm. Resembles Immanus sarawakensis (Eggers, 1923) but lacks large tubercles on the elytral declivity.
Description of Female. 7.8 mm long, 2.19 times as long as wide. Body uniformly chestnut brown, pronotal margins and declivity light brown. Head: Frons feebly convex, shining, finely, densely punctate near epistoma, punctures larger and sparser on upper part of frons, each bearing a long, erect seta. Epistomal brush with setae twice as long as epistomal width. Eyes emarginate, lower part larger than upper. Antennal scape narrow, elongate, funicle 4-segmented, segments subequal. Club approximately as long as broad, asymmetrical; club type 4 ( Hulcr et al. 2007), flat, anterior face with segment 1 corneous, costate, distinctly smaller than segment 2, covering basal seventh; segments 1 and 2 visible on posterior face, corneous. Pronotum: 1.01 times wider than long, basic in dorsal view ( type 2), tall and robust in lateral view ( type 5) and strongly declivous anteriorly and rising to an accented summit at basal third, anterior margin with elevated carina bearing four large serrations, surface asperate, asperities decreasing in size from pronotal slope to summit, increasing in density, small, widely spaced asperities on pronotal disc. Scutellar shield: Flat, impunctate, flush with elytra, longer than wide, linguiform. Elytra: 1.19 times longer than wide, 1.23 times longer than pronotum. Elytral base straight, humeral angles rounded. Sides straight, slightly widening from base to declivity, very broadly rounded apically. Discal interstriae wide, 3‒ 6 times wider than striae; interstriae 1‒2 uniseriately tuberculate, other interstriae smooth, shining, punctures subequal to those of striae, strongly confused, each bearing a long, erect hair-like seta. Declivity obliquely truncate, face flat, margin costate, tuberculate; interstriae impunctate, bearing uniseriate small tubercles near summit and transitioning to uniseriately granulate apically, each granule bearing a long, erect hair-like seta, six striae visible on declivital face, lateral margin tuberculate.
