Trichromothrips trifasciatus (Priesner) View in CoL
( Figs 8 View FIGURES 1–12 , 38 View FIGURES 31–39 , 45, 49 View FIGURES 40–50 )
Most Trichromothrips species have the fore wing brown or apex paler, but this species has the fore wing with three shaded cross bands and was placed by Bhatti (2000) in the trifasciatus -section together with falcus and similis. It is recorded here for the first time in China, and differs from the other species in this section as follows: fore wing base not shaded along anterior margin ( Fig. 45 View FIGURES 40–50 ), basal half of antennal segments III–V yellow, and abdominal tergites with some light brown patches ( Fig. 49 View FIGURES 40–50 ).
Specimen examined. China, Yunnan, Jinghong City, Nabanhe National Nature Reserve , 1 female from the leaves of Ipomoea batatas , 22.x.2017 (Yajin Li).
