Balkanodesmus Antić and Reip View in CoL , gen. n.
Type species: Balkanodesmus biokovensis Antić and Reip , new species, by present designation. Etymology: The new genus is named after the region of its type locality, Balkan Peninsula, and is masculine in gender.
Diagnosis: 19 segments (♂, ♀). This genus differs from all other European trichopolydesmids by the presence of a long, unipartite acropodite with three levels of lamellae with associated short triangular denticles in the middle part.
