Ybytyramoan Silveira and Mermudes, 2014 ( Figure 4 X – Z)

This genus was recently described by Silveira and Mermudes (2014b) and includes three species endemic to the Serra dos Órgãos. Males are similar to that of Photinus spp. , from which they can be easily distinguished by their lanterns never occupying the whole sterna VI and VII, and VII not covered by VIII. Males of all species flash. Females unknown. Illustration and a more comprehensive account, including a detailed key to identify the species were provided by Silveira and Mermudes (2014b).
