General distribution. Most of the European countries (except Iberian Peninsula), Anatolia, Transcaucasia, Iran, Asian part of Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, north-western China, and Siberia ( Jansson 1995, Protić 1998, Kanyukova 2000). The records from Morocco ( Gheit 1995) need further confirmation.

Comment. The strange variability of Sigara striata populations from Daghestan and Azerbaijan, previously identified as Sigara albiventris , was discussed by Kanyukova (1995, 2000).

One female of S. striata from ‘İŞaklı’, identified by Hoberlandt (1952a), represents a member of the subgenus Subsigara , possibly S. daghestanica (P. Kment revid.).

Identification. Jansson (1986a), Linnavuori & Hosseini (2000), Kanyukova (2000, 2006).
