Genus Lispocephala Pokorny View in CoL View at ENA
Lispocephala Pokorny, 1893: 532 View in CoL . Type-species: Anthomyia alma Meigen, 1826 , orig. des.
Diagnosis. Head long; two pairs of reclinate orbital setae; antenna inserted on upper half of the head; ocellar seta strong; arista long-pectinate in male and long-plumose in female in New Caledonian species; ocellar triangle long, reaching lunula; dorsocentral setae 1+3; hind tibia with 2 short posterodorsals, 2 anterodorsals, 1 short anteroventral, and an apical posteroventral; sternite 1 bare.
Comments. The genus was first recorded from New Caledonia by Shinonaga et al. (1991, as Pectiniseta Stein, 1919 ). Pont (1972) revised the Australasian species of Pectiniseta , and both P. pectinata and P. occulta were treated in that paper. See Couri and Pont (2000) for the synonymy of Pectiniseta with Lispocephala .
