It is a Mediterranean species. It is known from Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Ukraine, southern Europe, and Morocco ( Kiliç 1999). It was recorded from Iraq and Jordan ( Müller et al. 2011). The specimens of this species were mainly collected from dry and semidesert areas ( Chvála et al. 1972), however the specimens from Jordan were collected from woodland regions in the northern part of the country ( Müller et al. 2011).
