This species can be found all over North Africa and the Middle East ( Theodor 1965). In the area under investigation, it was collected from Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, and Syria ( Theodor 1965; Al-Talafha et al. 2005; Abu El-Hassan et al. 2019). The Females attack camels, causing irritation because of their painful bites ( Gadallah & Bosly 2006). In Jordan, the species was collected on horses and camels ( Al-Talafha et al. 2005).
