Haematopota grandis Meigen, 1820 View in CoL
Haematopota grandis View in CoL is distributed widely in South of Europe and the southern regions of Central Europe, reaching England, Denmark, and Sweden ( Chvála & Lyneborg 1970). The first antennal segment is very long and stout, with apical notch ( Austen 1925). The common name of this species is long-horned cleg ( Chvála et al. 1972). It was recorded from Palestine under Haematopota fraseri Austen 1925 View in CoL ( Theodor 1965). However, fraseri View in CoL was synonmyzed by Chvála et al. (1972) under H. grandis View in CoL .
