Tabanus sabuletorum Loew, 1874 View in CoL
This species has Palearctic and Oriental affinity. It was recorded from Europe (European parts of Caucasus to South Ukraine), Kazakhstan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, China, and India ( Abbassian-Lintzen 1964). This species was recorded from Saudi Arabia ( Leclercq 1982). The current species prefers forests and steppes, but it can be found on sand dunes and near salt lakes ( Chvála et al. 1972). Andreeva (1994) collected sabuletorum in mountainous places at altitudes up to 1800 m.
