Tabanus gratus Loew, 1858 View in CoL
Tabanus gratus View in CoL is Afrotropical species, widely distributed through Africa ( Oldroyd 1954). Moreover, the species is known from the Palearctic portion of Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, and Saudi Arabia ( Al-Dhafer et al. 2009). Tabanus gratus View in CoL shows variations in the abdomen coloration ( Abu El-Hassan et al. 2013). Mugasa et al. (2018) have found that specimens of gratus View in CoL from Kenya and Tanzania were different depending on COI barcoding, the authors mentioned that the specimens from Kenya have lighter brown color of abdomen comparing with specimens from Tanzania.
