Tabanus bifarius Loew, 1858 View in CoL
This species appears to be limited to areas with a more humid climate and better-vegetated environment ( Chvála et al. 1972). It is a variable species, especially in coloration of antennae and pattern of abdomen (Al-Talafha & Amr 2004). Moreover, the number of eye bands in this species is variable, ranging from one to three ( Chvála et al. 1972). Tabanus bifarius is widely distributed through Europe ( Moayyed Mazraeh 2019). However, in the Arab countries of the Middle East, T. bifarius was recorded only from Jordan and Syria ( Al-Talafha et al. 2005).
