The pattern of the eye’s circular band (distinguished in the fresh specimens) can be used to separate species in the genus. This circular band surrounds the eye’s margin completely or incompletely and its breadth equal or with indentation. Moreover, the eye of most Nemorius species with central spot of different shapes ( Philip 1961). N. irritans has circular band with equal width and the central spot elongated and angular ( Abbassian-Lintzen, 1966). This species is distributed from eastern Turkey through Iran and Turkmenistan to Afghanistan ( Abbassian-Lintzen 1966). In the Arab countries of the Middle East, irritans was recorded in Iraq, Jordan, and western Saudi Arabia. The species under consideration attempts to attack human ( Ježek 1977).
