This species is Mediterranean, recorded from South of Turkestan, Caucasus, Romania, Bulgaria, Belgium, northern Italy, Austria, France, Spain, Corsica, Sardinia, Turkey, Iran, and Central Asia ( Leclercq 1960). This species was reported from Lebanon. The species like irritans readily distracted from the animals and attack man at a regular basis ( Philip, 1961).
