Most species of the genus Chrysops live in forested areas ( Chvála et al. 1972). Chrysops flavipes was collected from savanna regions and all other habitat’s types ( Müller et al. 2012b; Kouam & Kamgno 2017). This species is Mediterranean in its distribution, extending from Southern Europe through Turkey and Iran to Central Asia ( Theodor 1965). Moreover, the species was recorded from north of India ( Müller et al. 2012b). Chrysops flavipes was collected from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria ( Theodor 1965; Müller et al. 2011; Sabr et al. 2017).
