Chrysops buxtoni Austen, 1922 View in CoL
Chrysops buxtoni View in CoL is a stout fly with medium size and distinctive broad head in the male and female ( Austen 1922). In the Arab countries of the Middle East, buxtoni View in CoL is uncommon and recorded from Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine ( Kröber 1938; Theodor 1965; Müller et al. 2012b). However, the Iraqi record was considered a mistake by Theodor (1965). This species was recorded from Turkey ( Erdoğmuş 2006) and Armenia as a subspecies Chrysops buxtoni armeniensis ( Olsufjev 1977) View in CoL .
