Distribution: Aru Isls, Buru, Bacan, Amboina, Seram, and Tanimbar Isls, Kai Isls, Halmahera, and Sulawesi ( Indonesia); New Guinea; Bismarck Arch.; adjacent small islands.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: euryotis species group. Subspecies, some of which are of dubious validity, were discussed by Hill (1983); also see Flannery (1995 a, b) and Bonaccorso (1998).
