Type material. Holotype: CHINA: Yunnan: male (IZCAS), Huoshaodi [火烧地], Mt. Cangshan [苍山], Dali City [大理市], 2500m, 21.VIII.2011, Zi-Zhong Yang leg. Paratype: 1 male ( IZCAS), same data as the holotype .

Diagnosis. This species is peculiar by the markings on the pronotum (Fig. 15 G). For more details, see diagnosis under Eupolyphaga fengi sp. nov.

Description. Male. General: measurements (mm): body length: 13.5–15.3, overall length: 24.4–24.8, pronotum length×width: 4.2–4.3×7.4–7.5, tegmen length: 22.3–22.7. Small, narrow, yellowish brown, tegmina scatteredly maculated ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 A–B). Head: dark brown. Interocular space narrow, ocelli ridge thin, slightly curved. Frons flat, lateral margins yellowish. Antennae dark reddish brown. Clypeus small; ante-clypeus yellowish; post-clypeus brown, convex. Labrum reddish brown, short, apex emarginated. Maxillary palpi and labial palpi brown, with joint parts and apex yellow (Fig. 15 H–I). Pronotum: brownish yellow, disc and hind part gathered with many dark brown spots which forming into an irregular marking, the rest part also sparsely with some small maculae. Surface covered with small yellowish pubescent, but not distinctly setose. Apex truncated, strongly convex, lateral fore margins oblique, almost straight, then strongly angled, and becoming straight and narrower at the lateral hind borders, hind margin slightly curved (Fig. 15 G). Tegmina and w ings: exceeded the end of abdomen about 11.0– 11.3 mm. Tegmina broad, hyaline, sparsely with small, unequal sized light brown speckles. Wings hyaline, very a few spots around the branches of CuA. Legs: slightly pubescent, coxa with distal portion yellow and densely pubescent; dark brown, trochanter yellow; tibial spines reddish brown to dark brown; arolia yellowish brown, large. Abdomen: weakly pubescent; dark brown with yellowish spots, median with a wide yellowish longitudinal line. Supra-anal plate protruded, apex with a very small emargination, anterior margin and paraprocts well pubescent; two median sclerites small; cerci dark brown, slender ( Fig. 31 A View FIGURE 31 ). Subgenital plate in ventral view brown, strongly maculated, right edge darker than the rest part; right part larger than the left, hind margin setose; styli dissimilar, right one shorter than the left ( Fig. 31 B View FIGURE 31 ). Genitalia: weakly sclerotized. Left phallomere: L1 elongate, anterior protruded, apex round, left with a small process; L2 curved sharply, right end with two lobes, the apex one elongate; L3 thin, straight, the hook rectangularly curved, apex straight; pda and paa well developed, long; L8 small. Right phallomere: large. R1M wide, robust, bulliform and membraned posteriorly; R1L thin; R3 wide, strongly convex; R2 with two enlarged chunks ( Fig. 31 View FIGURE 31 C–D).

Etymology. The species epithet “maculata” refers to the markings on the pronotum.

Natural History. According to the label, the specimens were all collected from the ground at Mt. Cangshan.
