Distribution

Hierodula patellifera , described from Java ( Audinet-Serville 1839), is a species widespread in many Asian countries: Malaysia, India, Japan, Korean Peninsula, New Guinea, Philippines, Southern China, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and West Sumba ( Ehrmann 2002). More recently, it has been reported from Hawaii ( Ehrmann 2002, Nguyen and Maxwell 2008) and Italy ( Battiston et al. 2019), presumably as the result of a human-assisted introduction. Today, it occurs in Bouches-du-Rhône, France (Fig. 3 ).
