Opius ambiguus Weng & Chen, 2005 (not Wesmael 1835) is a primary homonym. We here rename the species Opius cheni nom. n.after Prof. Dr Jia-Hua Chen for his contribution to our knowledge of the Chinese Braconidae and for his hospitality to the two first authors during several visits to the Fujian Agricultural & Forestry University at Fuzhou.
