Habitat: in soil (Berlese, 1910); no data given (Balogh, 1943).

Distribution: Italy (Berlese, 1910); Hungary (Balogh, 1943); Austria (Franz, 1954); Bulgaria (Kunst, 1961).

Remarks: Mahunka & Mahunka-Papp (1995, p. 63) state that it is uncertain whether Scapheremaeus reticulatus sensu Balogh, 1943 is the same as the species described by Berlese.
