Diagnosis: Mandibles present, narrow and blade-like; maxillary base equal to or smaller than palpus; antenna with seven antennomeres, flabellum present on antennomere III and rounded (not flattened); tarsi tetramerous (four tarsomeres); pretarsus without claws or sensory spots; wing venation with CuA 1 and CuA 2 present (CuA 2 absent in Myrmecolacidae ).
